Happy Monday, amigos! 

This year, I’m excited to say that the stars have aligned, and I’ll finally be attending my first PCA tradeshow! After being a member for several years and never being able to personally attend, it’s really exciting to see a badge with my name on it. 

What would you like to know from PCA 2021? 

Now that I’ll finally be in town, I hope to do more than just party from sunup to sunup. Nope, that’s not a typo. Lol. 

Personally, I’m excited to see some of the personalities that I’ve only ever interacted with virtually. There’s a lot of cool folks from consumers to brand/shop owners to reps that I’m going to get to hug for the first time.

Dave, I would like to know what happened to Nicaraguan Habano, in particular, and perhaps Nicaraguan wrapper leaf more generally? It seems like the industry has shifted to Ecuador (and San Andreas maduro) for the bulk of wrapper production and while many blends have been very good, there have been some notable duds.

Also, I would be curious to know if we’re going to see more blends put in the regular production queue moving forward? Not trying to speak for everyone else, but having bought a fair amount of limited editions over the past year that were mediocre at best I think does a disservice to everyone (consumer, retailer and manufacturer).

Congrats Dave! I would be curious to know what new steps are being taken to combat the fight against anti tobacco efforts or if most of the big players you talk to think that we are in a good spot at the moment. Thanks!

Enjoy. I went in 2019 and just finished up at TPE. It really is nice to put names with faces. I am probably not going to PCA, but maybe.

Congrats Dave! The big questions for me all revolve around what’s next for Dunbarton. Steve announced a few days ago a few new blends that I’d like to hear more about. A new vitola for Sin Compromiso “Paladin de Saka”, a new Muestra called Krakatoa, and the biggest mystery, Stillwell  Star. He has divulged the least about that one, but said he would at PCA, so I’m hoping you’ll do a blog post or something about your experience. Enjoy!

Congrats Dave! After a rough last year with some companies shutting down and many big names not attending this year, how was the overall atmosphere? Also, what brands/people are you looking forward to smoking and talking to? Enjoy!
