The taste profile of the blend is quite unusual and a novelty for a Davidoff cigar. With its flavors of lemon, leather and coffee, the limited edition cigar makes for a perfect introduction to the new cycle. The Dominican San Vicente and the Mexican Negro San Andres filler tobaccos, which are both known to stimulate the areas on the palate responsible for sour and salty sensations, drive the fresh and lemony notes. The blend is not only unique in taste stimulation, but also in tobacco innovation. This is only the second time Davidoff’s Master Blenders have used Mexican filler tobacco in a cigar, and the first time they have used a Dominican hybrid seed 98 tobacco from the Martin Garcia terroir, which adds sweet and creamy notes. The wrapper and binder are both from Ecuador and perfectly balance the flavors.
First Third: This beautiful lancero is not only visually pleasing, but also offers an ever-changing array of flavours. Lemon notes are soon followed by pepper and leather, giving the cigar a smooth and balanced start.
Second Third: The second third sees a change in flavour and an increase in complexity accompanied by pronounced notes of leather and complementing aromas of roasted nuts and oak wood.
Final Third: Coffee notes delight the palate in the final third. The flavours glide across the palate, dynamically changing direction and ending with earth and dried fruit as the cigar draws to a close.
