PADRON DAMASO REVIEW – CALIFORNIA

Summary:  Holy cream, Batman.  More specifically, cream of wheat.  This thing is firing off delicious breakfast flavors like it's nobody's business.  Floral notes and fresh, sourdough bread.

Starting the second third, I'm picking up a very faint Tabasco note.  Orange citrus, baby!  My mind must be set on breakfast because waffle notes have me hoping that chicken shows up in the final third.

There's a crisp, somewhat vegetal note in the final third that reminds me of radishes.  The orange has transitioned to kumquat.  Nice.  Potpourri at the close.

If You Like That, You Might Like This:  5-star brunches with bottomless mimosas.

Pairing Suggestion:  A glass of freshly squeezed milk.

Purchase Recommendation to a Friend:  Box.

PADRON DAMASO REVIEW – WISCONSIN

Summary:  This cigar brought a nice creaminess, bread, cinnamon, light cedar, caramel latte, pistachio, brown sugar, and pepper notes. That cedar note really popped on the retro hale. Pepper grew in intensity in the final third. Overall, the flavors were delicate, complex, and enjoyable.

Construction-wise, the burn and draw were both right on point. Smoke was voluminous.

And yeah, I said pistachio.

If You Like That, You Might Like This:  Brown sugar cookies.

Pairing Suggestion:  Coffee.

Purchase Recommendation to a Friend:  Box.

Blind Padron Damaso Review

PADRON DAMASO REVIEW – OREGON

Summary:  Sourdough bread and honey with some barnyard on the wrapper of this week’s cigar.  It also has a wide-open draw with a dry hay flavor.

Starting with lots of floral and citrus notes.  Mild wood and leather are in the mix as well, but they aren’t carrying the profile.  This thing is billowing smoke, which I dig.  The retro hale is really nice.  Creamy wood and leather notes with a nice peppery kick.  Not what I expected at all.

Middle-ish... getting some of that sourdough along with more subdued citrus notes, creamy leather, mild wood and that nice heat in the retro hale.  Still churning out smoke and zero burn issues.

The finale... still hanging on to an overall creamy mix of citrus, leather and wood notes with a heavy citrus and floral finish.

If You Like That, You Might Like This:  Cigars you can recommend to new smokers.

Pairing Suggestion:  Coffee with cream… or a nice rum.

Purchase Recommendation to a Friend:  5-pack.

Participants in this blind review were completely unaware of the cigar they were evaluating until all submissions were received and processed. Each participant was asked to answer a summary paragraph, an if/than statement, a pairing suggestion, and a purchase suggestion. Cigars were provided by Small Batch with only the expectations of candid responses. All pictures, information, and formatting were completed by a Coordinator outside of the reviewing process.
