Stolen Throne Castle 919 Review (BLIND)

Stolen Throne's Castle 919 honors Lee Marsh's grandfather who passed away 10 years ago. The castle represents Essex in a play on words (a part of Baltimore from Lee's childhood) and 919 refers to his address in that neighborhood. Castle 919 is crafted at the Rojas Cigar Factory in Nicaragua and debuted in 2025 with two sizes, Robusto and Belicoso.

CASTLE 919 REVIEW – DOM

Summary: Dank chocolate makes me check the ring gauge because this cigar tastes like it’s from the 60’s.  A quick inch down, and all that’s left is hay and a peep of maraschino cherry.

Where this cigar misses with flavor, it hits with some hidden strength.  A little bit of raw nut acridity makes me double down on my ring gauge joke—this cigar tastes old.

I’m breaking out the rare “final third” category because some salinity brought this cigar to a savory sweet spot.  It took a while to get good, but I’m left wanting to smoke another to see if I can get more of that conclusion.

Pairing Suggestion: Coffee

CASTLE 919 REVIEW – RICH

Summary: This cigar brought notes of peanut, pepper, cedar, toast, brown sugar, and then a prevailing mushroom flavor.

The draw was a touch snug - I could have cut deeper to open it up more, but I enjoyed it on the snugger side for this smoke. It burned perfectly.

If You Like That, You Might Like This: Sauteed mushrooms

Pairing Suggestion: Coffee

Perceived Strength: Medium

Purchase Recommendation to a Friend: 5-pack

CASTLE 919 REVIEW – BEN

Summary: Although it unravels an inch in, the wheat bread, toffee candy, and cardomon gives me a nice smoky and intense flavor combination. The retro hale is warm with black pepper and creamy finish. There’s a little grit at the end but I kinda like it!

If You Like That, You Might Like This: The unexpected

Pairing Suggestion: Vietnamese coffee

Perceived Strength: Mild+

Purchase Recommendation to a Friend: 5-pack
