Each year, there are a few holidays that require a little planning for most cigar enthusiasts. I’m thinking about the Fourth of July, Labor Day, Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years. The holidays where families come together, time is taken off of work, whiskey is poured, and cigars are lit. Except for Halloween, of course, but there are too many good options to let that Holiday go by without honoring it in flame.
Which leads me to today’s discussion question and contest:
Which Cigar(s) will YOU be enjoying this Christmas?
Myself, I’ll be enjoying one of the favorites pictured that I brought on this recent trip overseas. It will most likely be Byron, as I’ll have plenty of time to grab a cup of coffee and bask in the 90 minutes that it’s warm enough to enjoy a cigar. The others I plan on getting to before Christmas as the countdown begins.
It’s fitting because I started a tradition last year of a United Cigars Christmas.
And, if you follow my same train of thought on celebratory cigars, it’s always nice when you can reach into the humidor and grab a cigar that takes you back in time. Limited Edition and one-off cigars are great to enjoy, but I usually try to avoid them for anything that I want to remember again and again.
That’s why the Serino Medio keeps reminding me of that one time in Giza every time I cut and light:
