Discussion: News Year's Resolutions

Happy New Year!

It’s that wonderful time of year again.  A time that we consider the past 12 months while looking forward to the next.  A time when we weigh our previous decisions and vow to make better ones moving forward.  A time that, if spent correctly, can make a positive impact in our lives.

As we reflect, I’m super curious to hear your New Years resolutions!

What are Your 2019 Resolutions?

Myself, I definitely have some goals that I need to keep on the books as we transition into 2019.

  •       Introduce more would-be cigar enthusiasts to the hobby
  •       Try cigars that I otherwise wouldn’t (even more important in 2019 than in recent years)
  •       Celebrate the small things

For new personal resolutions, I’m down to just one that I think will make a difference:

Be healthy

You know the saying, “Enjoy in good health.”  I’ve come to realize in the last year or so that everything feels better, tastes better, smells better, and smokes better in good health.  It’s amazing how being more active helps you slow down and enjoy a cigar, while being still helps you be more productive. A balanced life is the way to go, and that’s my goal for 2019.

I'm not sure if I'm doing this right but I just placed my first order with you guys and I can't wait to try the rcigars sampler! I'm new to cigars and am still getting my feet wet here but you guys and this pack specifically come highly recommended. Anyway, I hope this is enough of a comment to count for a contest entry. Oh and as far as my resolution: lose weight, I'm at 236 and would love to get to 200 by this time next year!

My 2019 resolutions are:

1. To be more patient with others.
2. Read more books and watch less tv.
3. Smoke cigars I normally wouldn't smoke.

I had long discussion with the wife about resolutions and we agreed that we don’t want to resolve to just do something for a year, instead we want to strive to do something in 2019 that will benefit us for the years to come. So my main goals are to take 2019 to:

1. Educate myself on better eating habits and a healthier lifestyle so that moving forward I can better myself

2. Learn to manage stress and learn how to not fret the little things

To be more patient!

I’ve been logging cigar purchases for three years now, by dollar amount, location purchased, and # of sticks - it helps m keep my spending in check when I can see a number. In 2018 I expanded that to include # of cigars smoked (195). I think this year I will extend that to elsewhere and create and actual budget of sorts. I’ve already started, with a list of current wants and will limit myself as best I can to an item or amount per paycheck, which will help me prioritize and organize projects and maybe spend less frivolous money throughout the year.

My New Years resolution is to stop living life through my cell phones. In which I own 2. One for work, and one for personal. I have twin toddlers and it truly bothers me when I take them to a park and see every single parent glued to their phones without even glancing at their children. However, I won’t stop checking Small Batch for New Arrivals every couple hours.

My resolutions are specific...I am 51 this year (is that considered autumn?) 😂
1- Run six half-marathons
2- Hike another section of the Pacific Crest Trail
3- Build my own lounge at home
Easy right?  Cheers fellow cigar smokers.👊

My resolution is to become more physically and emotionally healthy so that I can be the best father and husband I can be.

Work less and enjoy more of my free time.
