MACANUDO EMISSARY ESPAÑA REVIEW – DOM
Summary: After writing down my initial tasting notes of leather and flat Coke, I wonder if it’s possible for a cigar to taste like non-flat Coke. With the addition of vanilla and old wood, this cigar is starting to taste like an old person in a non-cannibalistic or kinky way. Potpourri adds some beauty to the age. While it has yet to go out on me, I’m having trouble getting the smoke output up.
Halfway down, intense cinnamon stick gives my tongue a zingy feeling. Flavors remaining constant (i.e. getting old), I can’t distinguish anything else to note. The cigar gets put down after raw walnuts dry out my palate.

MACANUDO EMISSARY ESPAÑA REVIEW – RICH
Summary: This cigar delivered notes of wood, leather, nuts, clove, pepper, and cocoa. It was mostly woody and nutty.
The burn got off-track on occasion, but didn't need correction from my torch. It figured itself out.

MACANUDO EMISSARY ESPAÑA REVIEW – BENECIA
Summary: First half was espresso and wood, with some raisins and lightly toasted nuts. Just when I thought it was getting good, all the flavor was in the first third. The last half held nothing but a warm and smooth tobacco note. I thought I really needed to carve out some time for this but to be honest, this cigar would have been box-worthy if it was a third of the size.

Pairing Suggestion: Celsius (for lots of energy)
Perceived Strength: Medium

Participants in this blind review were completely unaware of the cigar they were evaluating until all submissions were received and processed. Each participant was asked to answer a summary paragraph, an if/than statement, a pairing suggestion, and a purchase suggestion. Cigars were provided by Small Batch with only the expectations of candid responses. All pictures, information, and formatting were completed by a Coordinator outside of the reviewing process.
